1st ed. 1st printing. Rare in this condition.Red cloth boards with gilt titling and motifs of riding hat and spurs etc and of cricket bats and stumps. Binding firm. Spine a little faded with very light wear to head and tail. There is a narrow band of fading to back. A neat, small blind impressed bookseller's name across the corner of ffep. (W H Smith.) Pages a little but evenly tanned throughout. 1 page had crease across corner. No foxing or inscriptions but on the reverse of the last page is a dear little pencil sketch, possibly by a child and dated by the clothes to the latter quarter of the 19th cent. A short gentleman in a bowler hat attempts to shade a much taller woman with a parasol, whilst the sun beams down. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 004299
