Beschreibung
Please find on offer here a nice copy of what is now a rather rare book (only one found online): The Pilgrims of Hawaii by Rev. and Mrs. Orramel Hinckley Gulick (Children of Early Missionary Families). The subtitle reads: Their own story of their pilgrimage from New England and life work in the Sandwich Islands, now knows as Hawaii, with explanatory and illustrative material compiled and verified from original sources. This is the illustrated edition of this book and includes an Introduction by James L. Barton, D.D. This small hard cover book (5 ½ x 8 ¼ inches, 351 pages) was published by the Fleming H. Revell Company of New York Chicago & Toronto dated 1918 and the First Edition (according to online research). The book is bound in black woven cloth boards with an embossed symbol of the publisher on the cover and gilt titles on the spine. The List of Illustrations includes more than 25 of them mostly vintage b&w photos. This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are slightly bumped at the corners and spine tips but nothing significant. The gilt titles on the spine are still bright and legible. Inside the book is now unmarked but I can see where some penciled notations of the front endpaper were apparently erased, probably the bookseller s price. The interior pages are clean and bright without toning or foxing. The title page is slightly separated from the bottom but still well attached and present. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 36
