11 sealed white envelopes, loose, housed in larger manila letter envelope, variously rubber stamped in color ink. Undated, circa 1980. Clean, internally unmarked. A sheaf of the Toledo, Ohio based mail artist/poet Joel Lipman's "poeMvelopes", a term he coined in 1976 for the practice of rubber-stamping sealed envelopes "to make what was a functional physical object, mailable internationally, impressionistic, often lyrical of language, kinetic in arrangement and composition, poetic in lexical cosmology". Two envelopes are slightly stuck together at the flap's adhesive strip, mild wear to edges otherwise. Outer envelope bumped at one corner, left side of flap torn. With offset tanning to flap side.
