Published by Basil Montagu Pickering 196 Piccadilly W., 1873. 8vo. 125, [3] pp. 8vo. Bound in publisher's original blue cloth, paper spine label. The binding is worn and marked, cloth wrinkled, label present but text barely readable, top and bottom of spine a little frayed, corners bumped. Inside there is a neat contemporary inscription in ink John Lynch Esq with Mrs Florris compls. June 1874. The endpapers are heavily discoloured, the fore edges are not trimmed, contents are holding but feels a little fragile, one segment has cracked. The poet's first book; five hundred copies were printed and the edition was withdrawn in 1878. Hayward 286. A fair copy only, obviously a favourite read. Size 20 x 14cm (8 x 5.5 inches).
