Valery Larbaud was a French writer (1881-1957) who published both poems and works of fiction. He inherited his family fortune, thus the title of this work. Translated & with an introduction by William Jay Smith. Designed and printed at the Caliban Press. A Grove Press review slip is laid in our book and dated 16 Mar 1955 (Mar crossed out and May inserted). 2 previous owner stamps on each side of the second rear blank end paper (in inconspicuous places).
