The first trade edition, 1912, of a lovely large book of thought-provoking poetry, beautifully illustrated in full colour with 20 tipped-in,full-page tissue-guarded plates. Includes the author's most-famous poem: "Solitude", the opening lines of which are: 'Laugh, and the world laughs with you; Weep, and you weep alone.' Beige cloth with red and green lettering, designs and borders. Gilt lettering to spine. Very good, tight binding, pages all clean and bright, several tiny marks and a small crease to frontis and long crease to its tissue guard (rectifiable with care). Else lovely condition throughout.
