Beschreibung
London. A. & C. Black, Ltd. 1932. First Edition. Octavo (8 x 6). 239 pp. plus advertisement for Silver. Illustrated map frontispiece showing the Nimpkish watershed drawn by May McGregor. Pool and Rapid is Haig-Brown's account of the people who knew and loved the Tashish, set against the "progress" of the engineers and geologists who viewed the river as a cheap source of power to the sawmills; events characterized during Haig-Brown's time spent near the Nimpkish River on Vancouver Island as a young man. The book has been rebound in green cloth in the same manner as the original binding replicating the exact titles and publisher's name on the spine. A nice book in clean, fine condition. Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. My chosen shipping option is the U. S. Postal Service. USPS is the best in terms of service and cost efficiency ¿ even though recent overseas rates, effective January 2013, have skyrocketed. USPS requires mails sent overseas and Canada can ONLY be sent by AIRMAIL. Charged at actual cost. Other overseas shipping options are available, such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.; however, they are frightfully expensive.
