Large 4vo. [8], 19-1033, [7] pp. Bound in pebbled brown leather with gilt lettering and decorations on the front board and spine, all edges gilt. The front and rear boards are decorated with flowers stamped in blind, with beveled edges. Four raised bands on the spine, the inner edges of the boards are decorated with gilt tooling and the endpapers and pastedowns are black with gilt flowers. Illustrated with full page steel-engraved portraits of prominent and representative citizens of the county, together with portraits of all the governors of the state, and of the presidents of the United States. Each page is bordered in red. A series of biographical entries of Wisconsin governors, presidents of the United States, and the wealthier citizens of Rock County, Wisconsin. A fascinating history of life in southeastern Wisconsin. A beautiful copy, difficult to find in such fine condition. A Near Fine book with minor rubbing to the extremities.
