Covers are light tan buckram with gilt lettering and designs on the spine and front cover. The history of Cinque Ports (five ports) which were located on the eastern end of the English Channel where the distance to France was the closest. The towns were Hastings, Romney, Hythe, Dover and Sandwich. Near fine book with the spine slightly darkened and a contemporary gift inscription on the second sheet. A beautiful copy!
