This yearbook will provide photographs of many children from Junction City High School, Junction City, Kansas, as it covered both high school and junior high school. It begins with the Seniors (Class of '59). These would be children who were born in 1941. Then there are pages of photographs of Juniors, then Sophomores, then a section on the Underclassmen which includes Freshman and then photographs of students from the Eighth Grade and then photographs from students in the Seventh Grade. That is all followed by a section on activities. Nice picture of the Homecoming Queen of 1958 who had two Princesses, Her Grace, Prudy and Her Grace, Connie. Then there are Attendants. There is a King and Queen of Hearts, then there are more Attendants. There are photos of the Snowflake Ball. The Yuletide Festival, of the Senior Play, the Junior Play, the Best of Broadway, the Royal Blues, The Pep Band. Then there is a section on Organizations which includes bands, cheerleaders, etc. Finally there is a section titled Athletics which includes all kinds of teams, particularly football and basketball. There is an Index of names at the end. 127 pages. There is quite a bit of writing, good wishes and the like, to the previous owner, Sherry Burford. Sherry was a Junior, and she is also pictured in the Junior Play, in the Senior Kayettes, and in the choir. I'm guessing David Burford is her little brother. There is a picture of him with the other Seventh Graders. The yearbook is in nice condition actually had a fitted plastic cover that I took off because it had become quite dirty. The covers were mostly well protected. There is a little bit of soiling off the top edge of the front cover. There is very little wear, just some bending and crinkling at the spine ends. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover. The covers are solidly bound as well. The pages are very clean. They are in very good shape. There are three consecutive pages with a tiny crease just above their bottom corners. One has a tiny nick off its bottom edge. There are no attachments in the book, obviously not a library book. There's plenty of writing but in this case it's a good thing, nostalgia and all. It looks like Sherry left a little pamphlet in the book.
