With sections on angling for Salmon, Barbel, Perch, Carp, Chub, Grayling, Eels, Eel-Pouts, Tench, Bream, Roach and Dace, Ruff, or Pope, Bleak, Gudgeons, Minnows, Loaches, and Millers' Thumbs, Trout, and Rud. Also sections on recommended tackle, with rods, lines, floats, hooks, and baits given ample description, and with several paragraphs devoted to fly fishing, although the author was a bait-slinger through-and-through and was unconvinced fly fishing had merit. Also a chapter on "Hints & Observations", which includes weather conditions, river flows, etc. The book is bound in contemporary marbled boards with leather corners, brown morocco spine (rebacked, with gilt title), more recent decorated end papers (all original blank leaves bound-in).
