A first edition copy of this work.The Principles of Gothic Architecture Elucidated by Question and Answer is written by Matthew Bloxam. This volume is a concise view of the principle distinctions of the different styles or orders of Gothic architecture.With in-text illustrations.Some of the pages within this volume are blank. From the library of Doctor Malcolm Higgs, an important architectural historian who worked as an assistant architect to Stirling & Gowan, working on their particularly renowned Leicester University Engineering Laboratory. During his long career he taught at the University of Edinburgh School of Architecture, Canterbury School of Architecture, and University of Nottingham. Later in his life he was the Vice-President and Honorary Librarian of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and contributed and edited the "Journal of Architecture". Re-bound in cloth. Externally, very smart with some fading to the spine and light marks to the boards. Previous owner inscription to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
