Often drawing into the history of the country as interwoven with the life of the subject, forming a vivid and authentic narrative with chapters tracing the youth of the Queen, her relations, marriage, and reign.Ornamented with beautiful engravings in text as well as with twenty-three full page plates, and a frontispiece in colour being a facsimile of a miniature of Queen Elizabeth in the possession of the Earl of Dysart. Collated, complete. In full vellum binding with titles in gilt on brown spine morocco label. Externally sound with shelf wear, some bumping to extremities of boards and spine, general soiling, boards lightly marked. Sybil Cox ex libris pictorial bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Minor faint staining mark to upper right corner of first few leaves, not affecting any of the text. Pages are otherwise bright and clean.
