Beschreibung
Octavo (9.75 inches). 3 & 4 George V, Chapter 43 (Statutes of Canada). Caption title, 6 pages. Royal coat of arms. Neatly extracted from a bound volume and expertly mended. By this Act, radiotelegraphy was defined as any wireless system for the conveyance of electrical signals or message, including radiotelephones. With the inclusion of radiotelephones in the legislation, the federal government assumed authority over the development of all aspects of radio, including point-to-point broadcasting. The legislation led to the first set of radio regulations in Canada (released in 1914) and called for certain classes of ships to carry radio equipment for safety purposes. The Act also required amateur radio operators to apply to the federal government for a unique call sign (designated by a series of letters) that identified each particular radio transmitter, although many continued to create their own. When World War I began in 1914, all amateur licences were suspended and amateur operators were ordered off the air. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 123
