A scarce collection of legal works comprising of two separate works on two famous trials and several accounts of the inventory of many landowners in the eighteenth century. Being eight works bound as one, but being three separate works bound as one. The first part to this volume is 'A Report from the Committee.'. To this part we are lacking the report and only have the appendices present. The second part forms of six separately published tracts in the same vein and from the same series, regarding the inventories of six noted individuals of the early eighteenth century. The third part is an excerpt from a wider work tracking the proceedings of Warren Hastings' impeachment trial. The first work is from the first edition, the first two 'Inventory' tracts are first editions, with the final four being second editions, and the excerpt from the minutes of Warren Hasting's trial is a first edition. According to ESTC collation, would seem that this work is lacking three leaves to the rear, three pages appear to be blanks and two pages following this may be publisher's adverts. 'Part printed by William Bowyer; his records show an initial printing of 3000 ordinary and 1500 fine-paper copies, followed by three printings of 1000 copies each, and a final printing of 500 copies' - ESTC. Cyphers The second work to this volume, as stated above, forms of six separately published tracts in the same vein, regarding the inventories of six noted individuals of the early eighteenth century. The full title of the first work is 'The particular and inventory of all and singular the lands, tenements, and hereditaments, goods, chattels, debts, and personal estate whatsoever, of the Right Honourable Sir Robert Sutton. Which he was Seized or Possessed of, or Intituled unto in his own Right, and which any other Person or Persons was or were Seized or Possessed of, or Intituled unto, in Trust for him, or to or for his Use or Benefit, upon the First Day of January, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty, or any Time after, &c.' This is ESTC No T43694. In this edition sig F. on p.17 is under 'p' in 'paid' and the 8th line of the title page reads 'estate whatsoever'. To the next five of these tracts there is a preliminary leaf explaining that 'We do appoint Samuel Buckley to print the several inventories deliver's to us by the persons following, viz. Sir Robert Sutton, Knight of the Bath, Sir Archibald Grant, Bart, Denis Bond, Esq, William Burroughs, Esq, Thomas Warren, and Richard Woolley'. This work was commissioned by J Comyns and W Thomson. The second of these tracts regards the inventory of Sir Archibald Grant. The ESTC no of this is T51806, with the press figure '1' to page 22. The third of these tracts regards the inventory of Denis Bond, with the ESTC no. T51800. This is the second edition, with the press figure '3' on page 6. The ornament to the title page has two birds. The fourth of these tracts regards the inventory of William Burroughs with the ESTC no. T51804. This work is the second edition, with the press figure '3' on page 8 and page 73 correctly numbered. This was printed by William Bowyer not Buckley and has the records showing this work had 850 copies and was entered 10 Feb 1733. The fifth of these tracts regards the inventory of Thomas Warren and has the ESTC reference no. T51798.
