Original red string bound illustrated wrappers (Text volume) resting, along with 19 loose leaves, in a red half morocco over burgundy cloth portfolio, with gold lettering on spine and front cover. Decorative endpapers and initials. This extremely rare portfolio is a photo-illustrated travel guide to Mexico containing a text volume featuring numerous in-text b/w photographic reproductions, and 19 loose plates of splendid duo-tone photographs. Each photograph is tipped onto heavy cardstock, is captioned in the plate and measures 6 1/2 x 9" (Plates: 10 3/4 x 13 1/4"). The photographs show the following views: 1) Market Place in Mexico; 2) Mexico: Public Laundry; 3) Mexico: Pico de Orizaba; 4) Mexico-City: General View; 5) Mexico: Primitive Irrigating; 6) Yucatan: Chi-Chen Temple; 7) Mexico: Cholula; 8) Mexico: Bullfight; 9) Mexico: Guanajuata; 10) Mexico: Chihuahua.
