Octavo. Limited to only 1300 copies. xxxiii, 125pp. with an introduction by Kevin Starr, illustrated with art by printed by Andrew Hoyem from Goudy Modern types. The definitive collection of the arti's poetry. Dixon was well known for his art, but his poetry was a bit obscure. A few had been published in magazines but the collection, gathered by his widow Edith Hamlin, amounted to 164 poems. The poems selected record the fifty year intellectual, imaginative, and emotional adventure of a major artist from the west. A fine bright copy, (save for owner's gift inscription), bound in 1/4 beige cloth over rust paper covered boards stamped with a bird within a circle, paper spine label, in a white dust jacket, spine lettering in black, some edge wear with a few small, closed edge tears a light toning to edges.
