First American edition. Faint remainder stamp on bottom edge and bumped at the spine ends else near fine in near fine dust jacket with a little subtle sunning at the spine letters and light edgewear. Signed by actor John Malkovich, who played the title character in the 2002 film of the same name. The book is also Signed by Gloria Kate Kingsley Skattebol ("Kinglsey Skattebol"), Highsmith's close college friend. Skattebot was one of two friends enlisted to translate Highsmith's handwritten diaries for the publication of *Patricia Highsmith: Her Diaries and Notebooks, 1941-1995* and was, until six week before Highsmith's death, her literary executor. Third Ripley novel, quite scarce. Included with the book is a white T-shirt printed with a quote from the book. The front reads, "You know the interesting thing about doing something terrible?"
