Gift quality first edition hardcover in grey cloth covered boards with red title and drawing of Roger on frt panel. Tips lightly brushed, one smidge of shelf wear on mid portion of rear cover, some soil on rear board. Presented in a slightly age-toned reproduction dust wrapper that is complete and displays well in new mylar. A very pretty book with beautiful charcoal illustrations by the author. Book does not state what breed Roger is but he looks like a grey Percheron/cross. At first Roger was just one of the horses in the circus that pulled the heavy animal wagons. He lived most of the year in Missoula, Montana and loved the juicy green grass there. One day, a visitor came to the circus grounds and the manager took him out to see Roger.
