Two volume quarto-sized limited first edition hardback set (148/350) on Japanese paper, 1904, with no jackets as issued. In overall very good used condition with minor signs of age, handling and storage - blue buckram boards, with gilt embossed blue leather spines, rubbed to edges and spines slightly sunned; Volume I (Essay and Diaries) with small label mark and faint cup-ring to front board. Bindings tight and appear little read - hinges sound and no pages loose. Internally clean, no annotation or inscriptions - includes the publisher� s 4pp promotional prospectus for this publication loosely inserted; toning to page-ends but text and fine photogravure illustrations bright and clear throughout.
