Beschreibung
A scarce First Edition of this crime thriller written by English writer John Creasey, under one of his many pseudonyms, Anthony Morton. A scarce First Edition of the work in the original clipped Dust Wrapper. Dated from copies found on JISC, held at The British Library. This work is fifteenth in the series of forty-six by Anthony Morton, which depict the adventures of The Baron, an ex-jewel thief and antiques dealer. The Baron, aka John Mannering, has the tables turned on him at Hallen Hall, as he realises his host has no intention of allowing him to leave with his life. Anthony Morton is one of the twenty-eight pseudonyms of John Creasey, the English crime writer who wrote more than six hundred novels throughout his life. He was known for his many different series of fiction, being such a prolific and fast writer that he once claimed he could be locked in a glass box and write an entire novel before being let out. With an ink inscription to the front endpaper, saying With love to Mum and best wishes for a Happy Christmas Ruth xxx. In original publisher's blue cloth binding, with clipped Dust Wrapper. Externally, very smart, with light wear to the extremities. Slight fading and light bumping to the extremities. Offsetting and age toning to endpapers. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Dust Wrapper in very good condition, with slight chipping and the occasional closed tear. Light sunning and the odd mark to the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 871Q31
