Beschreibung

Green, cloth-covered boards with black lettering. Device on the back cover in black. Minor wear and natural ageing, pea-sized brown spot to a couple of leaves. Book previously owned by Thomas H. Yates who has written his name on the front free endpaper. This binding is not recorded in Eckert but the text follows all of the points for a first edition at page 205 of Eckert's 1937 bibliography of Thomas. (The "Rose Acre Papers" title was first used by Thomas for a book published in 1904 by S.C. Langham & Co but only two of the essays in that publication are used here; this publication contains twelve essays previously published in "Horae Solitariae" in 1902).
