It includes a beautiful decorative gilt design of the spine and boards. This collection includes poems by Christina Rossetti, George MacDonald, William Allingham, and Mary Howitt. This collection includes The Falling Track by George MacDonald, The Pilot Boat by William Allingham, and An Aspiration by Frederick Locker. Each poem is accompanied by an intricate vignette or plate wood engraving. Includes twenty one plates. The poems reflect Victorian attitudes towards childhood, illness, nature, and social conventions. With the original publisher's advertisement for other books in the Dalziels' fine art gift books collection. Including 100 pages. Collated complete. The pages match up with the collation on JISC. Bound in decorative cloth boards. Externally very smart. bumping to the spine resulting in loss. Internally disbound due to the failure of the gutta percha.
