Rebound in cloth, with the original pictorial paperback wraps bound in. Very scarce work.Dated using Jisc from copies of the work held at the British Library. Published as part of Beeton's Humorous Series, with the advertisements to endpapers. This collection comprises the poetical works of nineteenth-century American poet, John Godfrey Saxe. Known for his witty and satirical approach to poetry, Saxe was also known to try his hand at politics, attempting to be elected as Governor in Vermont on two separate occasions.With the stamp of F. Tanner Sydney dotted throughout the work. With fifteen pages of advertisements to the rear. Rebound in cloth, with the original pictorial paper wraps bound in. Externally, very good, with light rubbing to joints and extremtiies and light bumping. Bookseller stamp to front paste down. Paper is a little cockled to rear paste down. Original paper wraps are a little worn, with the front wrap partly detaching, with a few areas of loss. Internally, otherwise firmly bound. Pages are bright, with stamps of F.
