First edition, first impression. Illustrations by John Lockwood Kipling. Blue cloth with motifs and lettering to spine and upper board in gilt. All edges gilt. Some occasional spotting to first 32 or so pages, primarily to preliminaries, otherwise clean and free from any names or inscriptions. A few light marks to cloth and a touch of the usual rubbing to spine ends. Gilt lettering and snake and spine motifs still beautifully preserved. A beautiful copy.
