Instead it is Tony Bridgman, a professional golfer and Haswell's buddy, who is the intrepid sleuthing hero. The novel begins with the search for a lost golf ball that sends Tony Bridgman to unravel the Secret of Bogey House, ostensibly an innocent pleasure resort. There is bridge, tennis, boating and golf.
