304pp. First book by Paul Bowles. This is the Second Impression published in the same year as the 1st edition. Grey cloth covered boards with blue title plate and gilt lettering to top of spine. Fade to colour of cloth at tip of top and tail of spine. Also fade to cloth at top and lower board edges. Light toning to block edges and top page edge. Few light spots to title pages and other prelims, extending to p30 and thence occasional margin spots throughout. Otherwise clean and tightly bound. Unclipped Second Impression dust jacket designed by Fred Uhlman. Blue with palm tree and white and black lettering. Publishers' recent book list on rear panel.
