This is a Near Fine first edition copy of one of the most influential books of sociology in the 20th century. This book was a huge influence on SDS co-founder Tom Hayden while he was a student at the University of Michigan. This very bright octavo, 8.5 x 5.75-inch very bright copy is covered in shiny black cloth and stamped in blue and white lettering on the spine with a blue illustration on the front cover. There is very minor wear to the tips, otherwise Fine. The Very Good condition dust jacket has a few minor chips at the top of the back cover and a 1.25-inch closed tear at the top with a small removal of color at the bottom of the tear. The jacket, which has the original $6.00 price on the front flap, has some chipping at the bottom of the spine.
