The scarce first edition of this posthumously collection of sonnets in a smart, decorative full calf binding. With parallel Italian and English texts. With a frontispiece portrait of the author. With marbled endpapers and page edges. Little is known of the author, Charles Johnston, of Danson, Kent, and formerly of Trinity College, Cambridge. In a full contemporary calf binding. Externally, slightly rubbed. Internally, firmly bound, with light spotting, prominent to the first and last few pages.
