The book comes with a facsimile dust jacket and a protective jacket sleeve. "The Sound and the Fury" was the second of Faulkner's novels to appear in England. From the dust jacket: "In form experimental, in parts seemingly chaotic, his new book is difficult but no less brilliant than its predecessor (Soldier's Pay), and shows to better advantage the versatility of Mr. Faulkner's gifts as a writer. Of its imaginative force there can be no question." Condition: Some very light soiling to the right edge of the front cover, and to the top and left-hand edges of the back cover. There is a bit of mottling to the cloth along the left edge of the front cover. Sharp cover corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Light staining at the top edge and long edge of the text block. Foxing to the pages at the front from the end papers to the copyright page, and to the last few pages at the back.the pages in-between are clean with no issues found. Oxford UK bookshop label affixed to the front pastedown. The front end paper has a thin, light stain along the top edge, and a small light stain at the right edge. The rear end paper and pastedown have a thin, light stain along the top edge Overall the book is in Good+ condition. The facsimile dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with no issues found.
