Le plat supérieur est orné du blason doré de la ville de Paris, avec sa devise inscrite dans un ruban: "Fluctuat nec mergitur". Le tout est surmonté de la devise de la République française inscrite en dorée "Liberté-Égalité-Fraternité". Un volume grand in-8 (269x180 mm), frontispice, x-356 pages et 1 planche hors texte. Nombreux ressauts de cahiers. Coins abîmés. Quelques rousseurs. Édition originale, avec une reproduction d'une lettre manuscrite du Général Chanzy et de nombreuses illustrations in texte de V.-A. The front cover is decorated with the golden coat of arms of the city of Paris, with its motto written in a ribbon: "Fluctuat nec mergitur". This is surmounted by the motto of the French Republic in gilt: "Liberty-Equality-Fraternity". 8vo (269x180 mm), frontispiece, x-356 pages and 1 plate. Loosing binding. Chipped corners. Some foxing.
