Ex-lending library first edition (stated first edition) hardcover, bound in black cloth, with white lettering on spine, is in G condition, having some wear to top and bottom spine, and to corners and elsewhere to cover edges; bookplate of former owner on first fixed endpaper; rental library stamps (five of them) on first endpapers; some kind of staining to front and back endpapers, which then slightly intrudes into a few pages in of respective text; slight tilt to volume; overall (except for the defects noted) moderate surface, edge, and handling wear. Dust jacket (illustrated by E. McKnight Kauffer), enclosed in protective mylar (mylar not pictured), is in Poor condition, having some missing pieces at tip of spine, and other wear, and has been re-inforced on the inside of it with brown packing tape along spine, edges, and folds.
