Beschreibung
This charming and memorable story about the McFee family and their sock machine is the sort parents, uncles, and aunts want to pass on to the next generation. The McFee's amazing sock machine (wonderfully illustrated!) whirrs less and less as the good people of Scotland begin to buy their socks at the big stores downtown, rather than from the little factory's storefront. Young Angus McFee finds his sparrow friend shivering and makes for him a tiny pair of red-and-white striped socks. The other sparrows decide, "We mun have socks too!" and suddenly Angus is making hundreds of wee pairs of socks. Alas, he uses up all the yarn in the wonderful sock machine! But then something wonderful happens . . . . This copy is an apparent first edition with the correct price on the jacket flap. The book is clean and tight with crisp pages and no previous owner name or marks. The dust jacket has some light soil--it is mostly white, so everything shows--but has no chipping or tears. Scarce in jacket, scarce in first, scarce in this condition! Please see photos. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 96060202
