Includes list of exhibitions. ?Lo Savio was ? the greatest theorist of his own work, as evidenced by the volume Spazio-luce of 1963, edited by the artist in every detail, from texts to photographs, and dedicated - as further evidence of the origins of his thought - to Piet Mondrian . We find here the idea, clearly modernist in origin, which conditions the development of the artist's path and that is the will to «design a three-dimensional space to create a one-to-one experience, internal as a problem of formal experience, external as a problem of social relationship»: an idea anticipated by the quotation from Robert Musil's The Man Without Qualities placed at the beginning of the volume and which deserves to be quoted in its entirety: ?The images are divided into two large opposing groups, the first group derives from being surrounded by events, and the other from surrounding them, [.] this «being inside a thing» and «looking at a thing from the outside», the "concave sensation" and "convex sensation", "spatial being" as "objective being", penetration and contemplation are repeated in many other antitheses of experience and in many of their linguistic images, which it is legitimate to suppose origin a very ancient dualistic form of human experience.? In 1961 an intense season of international collaborations began. In January he exhibited at the "Monochrome Malerei" exhibition at the Städtisches Museum in Leverkusen, curated by U. Kultermann; in March he participated in "Konvergenzen" at the Rottloff gallery in Kalrsruhe and later in the "Internationale Malerei" at the Wolframs-Eshenbach gallery in Schlöss. The year ended with the participation in the group show "0 + 0" [zero + zero] with H. Mack, Y. Klein, O. Piene and G. Ueker at the La Salita gallery where the Filters were also exhibited; moreover, the L. also received a mention at the Lissone prize and at the Critics' Exhibition in Milan.?
