Rare near fine first edition in very good wrapper. Excerpt from Steiner introduction: "These twenty lectures of Dr. Steiner's were given at the request of practising Doctors of Medicine. Some thirty doctors and students attended. The Lectures took the form of answers to questions handed to the lecturer at the time, and accounts for their somewhat loose constuction. Dr. Steiner's method was to stimulate the mental and spiritual faculties of his listeners rather than merely give information. His aim was lead to medical and therapeutic intuition. From two lectures in London: 'Some three thousand years ago, during the flowering of the most ancient Greek culture, there existed schools that were very different from today. The basis of these ancient schools consisted in the belief that man must first develop new faculties in his soul before he could become capable of attaining true knowledge. During the course of the last few centuries a vast store of external knowledge in the domains of biology, physiology, and other branches of research has been learned. These are an amazing mass of obversations, out of which an immeasurable amount may be obtained! But during these centuries all knowledge connected with man which could only be gained with spiritual vision, sank completely out of sight.
