Beschreibung
A smart first Australian edition of this collection of Biggles stories from Captain W. E. Johns. First Australian edition. Illustrated throughout. At the end of summer 1940, Biggles has been given command of the 666th Fighter Squadron. He soon realises his new squad consists of officers who do not take too kindly to discipline. Written by William Earl Johns, an English First World War pilot, and writer of adventure stories best known by his pen name Capt. W. E. Johns, Illustrated by Radcliffe Wilson, a British artist and illustrator. In the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor bumping to the extremities. Original price-clipped dust wrapper is sound with light wear and the odd small closed tear to the panel edges. Loss to the head and tail of the spine with the odd mark to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light age toning to the extremities. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper with previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown. Very Good Indeed. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 917T61
