Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

Spoken German: Basic Course, Units 13–30 (War Department Education Manual EM 519) By William G. Moulton and Jenni Karding Moulton United States Armed Forces Institute / War Department, Madison, WI, August 1, 1944. Description: Original grey printed wraps, 269 pp. A continuation of the U.S. Army’s Basic German Course, designed to provide enlisted personnel with practical language skills for use in the European theater during World War II. Produced under the direction of the War Department in cooperation with the Linguistic Society of America. Covers everyday conversation, travel, military interaction, and cultural orientation. Condition: Good. Stiff grey paper wraps show moderate wear, with some rubbing and edge chipping at spine ends. Corners bumped; front cover is loosening at spine and should be repaired but binding still hanging on. Pages toned with age but clean, unmarked, and legible throughout. A solid copy printed on thick wartime stock paper. This copy's provenance includes original notes tucked inside from the student that once owned this manual. A scarce WWII-issued military language training manual, companion to Spoken German: Units 1–12. Collectible as both a linguistics reference and a piece of World War II history. Other AbeBooks booksellers have the EM 518 Units 1-12 copy available.…

West Coast Curio Design – Where Books Find Their Next Reader At West Coast Curio Design, we believe every book has a story—not just the one printed on its pages, but the one it’s lived through. The hands it’s passed through. The shelves it’s rested on. The conversations it sparked. We don’t just sell vintage books—we re-house them. We find them new homes with readers who understand the quiet thrill of a first edition, the intimacy of a handwritten inscription, or the charm of a well-worn spine. Our mission is to pass forward meaningful works of literature—classics, forgotten gems, artistically designed volumes, and culturally important texts—to good stewards. Buyers who won’t just shelve them, but live with them. Display them. Share them. Reference them. Love them. We’re based in Redondo Beach, California, but our literary sensibility draws from both coasts: the relaxed creativity of the West, and the reverence for books and history often found back East. With a background in literature and two decades of experience in vintage curation, our founder hand-selects every piece with attention to form, content, and significance. We carry: First editions and early printings Beautifully designed and illustrated books Vintage hardcovers across genres (literature, history, art, philosophy) Books that make meaningful gifts, heirlooms, or conversation pieces This isn’t a warehouse operation. It’s a studio—where books are appreciated for their tactile beauty, their voice, and the way they still matter. We believe in sustainability through storytelling, and that sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is pass along a great book at the right moment. Whether you’re building a personal library, seeking a thoughtful gift, or hunting for that one childhood title you never forgot—we’re glad you’re here. Thank you for helping us keep these stories moving. …
