As usual with these early catalogues, it is not illustrated, items listed are just titles and prices. Sheet has three old horizontal folds and edges have small tears, tape on verso along spine, else good. Rare. Size 8.25 x 5.25 inches (200 x 135mm) The Penwith Society was founded in 1949 by Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson, Peter Lanyon, Bernard Leach, Sven Berlin and Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, amongst others. This catalogue states that the president is Herbert Read, and the Penwith Society was founded in memory of Borlase Smart.As this issue has 10 on the front cover, I suspect this is the Tenth exhibition of the society, four being held every year from 1949 when the Penwith Society started exhibiting.
