Designed beautifully by W.A. DWIGGINS, with a his Designer's Note at rear. 'Here is a book ripe with learning, rich in wisdom, serene in faith, yet always alert & inquiring. It is also the first book in which American readers can really become familiar with Sigrid Undset's splendid personality.' Uncommon in jacket. Good in good jacket. Fore-corners slight bumped; some damp-staining to top edge, causing red top-stain to bleed somewhat into top margin of textblock. Some spotting to covers and edges, and traces of spotting to endpapers and the occasional page.
