First edition. Octavo. 96pp. In-text photographic portraits. Full white and gray cloth decorated in black and gilt. Small owner label, fairly large stain along the spine, else near very good. Poetry by a prominent Methodist cleric about other clerics (mostly prominent in Ocean Grove), friends, and family, most with in-text portraits of the subjects, as well as nature poetry. Stokes was trained as a bookbinder, but started to preach at an early age. At his death in 1897, he was the President of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association.
