Original olive cloth over boards, dark green illustrations at front cover, gilt lettering at spine, top edge gilt, other edges uncut, floral end papers, Translated by H. Oskar Sommer, frontispiece and 100 drawings by Arthur Gaskin. This is Gaskin's first book commission and his most successful. An excellent edition of Andersen, containing 100 tales. Very good, no dust jacket, spine very slightly darkened, spine ends and corners bumped, pages agetoned and foxed, previous owner's signature at front free end paper, stamp at front free end paper.
