This book contains a collection of fifty short stories to be read to three to five year old children. The author has a proper appreciation of the educational function of stories at this stage of a child's development, and the range of her stories, catering for many different temperaments, will be particularly welcome in nursery classes. The book is bound in the original red boards with white titling on the spine. The book is in very good condition and is tight and clean inside. There is a name written on the front free endpaper. The unclipped dustwrapper has some shelf wear with light soiling and the edges are rubbed. The spine ends and corners are bumped with small pieces missing from the spine ends and a slightly larger piece missing from the top rear edge. There are a few tear on the edges of up to about 1 1/4" and the larger of these have been repaired on the reverse with tape. The dustwrapper is in an easily removed clear plastic protective cover.
