Guilford's history of the Cleveland Female Seminary. Guildford was a 1847 graduate of Mount Holyoke College and a student of Mary Lyon. The School was a boarding and day school for girls, and a forerunner of colleges for women. It operated from 1854 - 1883. One of the final chapters concerns, "The Coming Moral Influence of Women."
