Two large volumes approx. 10.6 x 14 inches bound in original very finely-woven silk-like cloth-covered boards with red leather spines lettered in gilt; "being a series of working drawings of the principal monuments of the Middle Ages, whereof the plans, sections, and details are drawn to uniform scales" with approx. 200 engraved and lithographed plates. Condition: loose in case, covers and spines detached as a unit, text blocks firm and sound save title page for volume 1 is also detached; internally clean and unmarked with some very light foxing; a very nice set in original binding, with half-titles present, worthy of professional attention.
