Beschreibung
'Three Hundred Copies Of Sunshine And Shadows Have Been Printed On Hurlbut Cragbourn Paper By Garamond Press, Inc., At Baltimore In 1934. The Typography Is By Edwin Tunis, Who Also Drew The Decorations.' Underneath that is printed 'This is number' but no number is given. On the blank second front end paper there is a penned and signed inscription from the author. Once listed, this will be the Only signed copy for sale on the Internet. There is actually just one other copy of the book for sale. It would appear that this was Louise Tousey's only published book. She was born in 1880. The inscription reads: 'For May, with love from Louise-- December, 39-- On page 2 "The Rose Garden" is in the Poetry Center, Communications Building at the New York Worlds' Fair.' You can see the covers of the book in the photos. They are quite clean, there is one light spot on the rear cover. There is some light amber toning at a few of the margins. The gilt lettering and design on the front cover is quite bright, including what I think is the World's Fair symbol. The edges and corners of the book have held up quite well. There is a speck-sized bit of rub-through at the two top corners. The page edges are very clean. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The pages are in exceptional condition. The paper is of excellent quality. I'm not seeing any soiling at all anywhere. And I'm not seeing any creasing. The middle page edge is deckled or rough-cut. They did a good job. There are a few pages that have a bit of jaggedness at this at this middle edge, including the illustrated first front end paper which also has what appears to be a tiny tear but isn't quite. The inside covers and end papers, front and rear, form the same landscape illustration. Both are very clean. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 003645
