A beautifully illustrated first edition of this survey of British hydrography. First edition. Highly illustrated throughout including one coloured map and many plates. Collated complete. A brief history of British hydrography by Mary Blewitt, an English fellow of the Institute of Navigation and author of "Celestial Navigation for Yachtsmen". With foreword by Vice Admiral Sir Archibald Day and an appendix on ships and instruments by Lieutenant-Commander G P B Naish. In the original black cloth binding. Externally, excellent with small handling marks to the front board. In black slipcase, also excellent with minor shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
