This charming book, written by author and artist Constance Armfield (nee Smedley) is illustrated by her artist husband, Maxwell Armfield, who collaborated with her and others with book illustrations. This tells the adventures of the Woodcutter's daughter, Sylvia, and the illustrations are delightful. This has been a read and loved book, so is not pristine, but the binding is good, and the gilt is still golden. The binding is a little loose, but intact, and there is a small tear at the bottom of one of the black and white illustrations.
