Color illustration on jacket of Christmas tree with candles and wild animals gathered around by the Petershams also. Previous owner's Christmas inscription (1953) in ink ffep; else contents clean and tight. One tiny spot at gutter title page and next page. Tape mark residue rear fep. Cloth covers little color mottled with fade to the spine; else good. Unclipped jacket lightly worn at edges; little heavier wear to head/tail spine. Paper punch circle out in the "r" in under on front cover; o.w. good under protective mylar. In the Umbrella Book Series which are selected by the Literature Committee of the Association for Childhood Education and contain stories of lasting value for young readers.
