A very rare 1929 first edition in dust jacket, of this important work of baseball fiction. There is no copy of this book listed for sale on ABE, with or without a dust jacket. An expert estimates that Appleton published less than 1,000 copies of each of these titles, which would account for its rarity. This copy is in fine condition, in a very good dust jacket which still has the original price of $1.75 on the front flap. A few small pieces of tape on the inside of the jacket but not visible on the outside. Silvers also wrote the Dick Arnold series and was dean of men at Rutgers.
