Beschreibung
A very scarce copy of George Francis Hardy's lectures surrounding the efficacy of those tables constructed to show mortality. The first edition. Comprised of the course of lectures delivered by George Francis Hardy at the Institute of Actuaries, during the session 1904-5. Hardy was a fellow of this institute, which served as the professional body which represents and regulates actuaries in the UK. This set of lectures surround the theory of the construction of tables of mortality, and other similar statistics. The aim of this work was to explore theoretical considerations that should govern the treatment of such statistics, including those that form the basis of tables of mortality, sickness, marriage, secession, and other factors. With an ink inscription of A. J. Lowe to the front endpaper, and the occasional pencil notation. Bound in red cloth. Externally, very smart, with light rubbing and a little bumping to the extremities. Slight fading to the spine, with the odd mark. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright, with the occasional pencil notation. Very Good Indeed. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 918Q15
